NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
| The project, funded by FAO/HLFFDP/HMG was implemented on a pilot basis in three VDCs of Kavre and Sindhupalchowk districts. The overall objective of the project was to raise the income of the farmers of leasehold forest groups through off-season vegetable production. Activities like vegetable producer's group formation, conducting trainings on advanced methods of vegetable cultivation, construction of micro-irrigation schemes for off-season vegetable cultivation, linkages with marketing co-operatives and providing technical services at the field level were carried out. The project targeted 300 households in vegetable cultivation. The project generated additional average income per family by Rs. 7500 per annum |
