NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Development of Climate Change Resilient Agriculture in Nepal (DCCRA) aims to promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly production model in 3 districts of Nepal - Kavre, Sindhuli, Sindhupalchowk. The project aims to build the capacity of 45,000 HHs that can respond to climate change through the cultivation of highly adaptable local varieties and ecotypes.
Specific objectives:
• Increase the market share for traditional agricultural products (vegetables and seeds) which conform to the Organic Certification Nepal guidelines through a Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) which stimulates demand and raises market awareness.
• Propagate conservative, sustainable agricultural practices for the production of traditional agricultural produce which have a low environmental impact in terms of their carbon footprint and water consumption.
