Mr. Gyan Prasad Sharma, Program Coordinator, Mr. Rishi Raj Sharma and Mr. Mahesh Joshi, District Program Manager were responsible for implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The program mainly aimed to reduce the conflict potential in Western Terai districts of Mid and Far West parts of the country by integrating the ex-Kamaiyas and other vulnerable communities around their surroundings and by engaging them in sustainable livelihood opportunities. Their socio-economic empowerment will create grounds for self-reliance and independence on one hand and will enable them to tap employment and income generation opportunities around. The program have direct impact on 7245 families, especially focus on ex-Kamaiyas, Dalits and landless families. For the ex-Kamaiyas, the program was able to build on the earlier efforts mady by various ortanizations and strengthen the existing main committees of the camp. Surrounding communities of ex-Kamaiyas was integrated by developing community structures.
