Mr. Indra Raj Pandey is the focal person responsible for the implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to sustainable improvement on food security, family nutrition and livelihoods of the poor and disadvantaged HHs of selected mid hill districts of Nepal through establishing home garden at deprived and poor households and supply nutritious food to them. The project aims to improve traditional production methods and cultivation of primarily indigenous nutritious crops, integrating fruits, medicinal herbs, vegetables and other possible fresh and processed depending on local situation in the home gardens of resource poor farmers.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Mobilise, organize and technically train 600 (150 from each district) farmers in different aspects of year round production of home garden product, health and sanitation, nutrition of family.
  • Establish village multipurpose nursery.
  • Cooperation and collaboration with other SDC funded projects.
  • Capacity building of participating home gardening farmers.
