Mr. Virendra Nath Upraity, Program Coordinator and Mr. Bhuwan Raj Bhatta , Monitoring Officer, are responsible for the implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

TThe overall goal of the PPLP is poverty reduction through improved, sustainable local livelihoods of 5,100 rural poor families in five districts of the Mid Western Development Region (MWDR) of Nepal. This will be achieved by building on the current state of the human, social and institutional capital generated by past and on going program undertaken with the North- South Corridor development approach.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

The program focused on two main inter related components : i) Business Plan Development Services and Micro –enterprises Promotion and ii) Institutional Capacity Building


  • Sub sector analysis of up scaling vegetable crop
  • Business plan development training to cooperatives and farmer groups
  • Marketing system development and capacity building
  • Develop price information system for local produce
  • Organize various type of training /workshops to strengthen the capacity of cooperatives, hatbazar committees
  • Develop linkages with micro – finance institution
