Trainers Training for Project Officers, CEAPRED, PVSPR

Introduction

The term training refers to the acquisition of knowledge, which improves skill and competencies of the trainees. PVSPR is scheduling several type of training in the past to improve skill and competencies of its staff. Since CEAPRED/PVSPR staff has to work with cross cutting theme, they need to refresh with recent information and technologies. Apart from this agriculture science is dynamic and field staffs need to refresh with advance technology for transferring it in to the field. Considering this fact PVSPR has made provision in 2010 YPO to conduct Trainers Training for Central and Districts level officers.

Besides technical knowledge, the training also intend to refresh staff’s knowledge and skills on existing national and international seed marketing, report writing skill learn about GIS and its implication In Agriculture

The objective of the training was to improve the knowledge and skills of participants in developing business plan, understanding the process of variety development, different stages of source seed production, national and international seed regulations and their implementation status in Nepal.

General Objectives

To improve the skills of participants in

• Preparation of Microsoft Power Point and presentation
• News and report writing skill
• Preparation of business plan
• Understanding the process of variety development and release source seed production, seed marketing and
• WTO and its advantage and implication in Nepali seed business.

Specific Objective

At the end of the training the participants will be able

• To facilitate and transfer skill for concerned clients (Cooperatives, seed entrepreneurs, firms and farmers)
• To manage source seed production, seed quality maintenance
• To deliver project outputs and outcomes efficiently in time
