National Level Stakeholders Consultation Meeting on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security held
National Level Stakeholders consultation Meeting on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security was held on April 20th 2011 in CEAPRED central office premises. The meeting was attended by more than 30 participants with representation from MOAC, ICIMOD, NARC, IWMI, CIMMYT, DOA, NARC, FIAN, RUWON, AICC and ADBL. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nathu Prasad Chaudhary Secretary of MOAC..
The meeting was accomplished with two sessions; Technical presentation and Discussion. For the technical session, Mr. Pramod Aggarwal, IWMI-Delhi, India presented on CCAFS:
An Overview and Regional Engagement Strategy, MR Chiranjibi Adhikari, Focal Person, Climate Change and Participatory Action Research, CEAPRED presented on Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), a Baseline Study and Ms Luna Bharati, Head of Office, IWMI Nepal Office, Jawalakhel presented on Climate change and Water: Recent research at IWMI. Similarly discussions were held on various topics such as Policy environment, Rainfall/temperature insurance, Water Management Options, Social and cultural barriers to adaptation, Crop diversification with respect to CC adaptation, Weather forecasting and agro-advisory service, and Seed bank.
