Half yearly progress review and planning meeting of VSP III conducted

A three-day meeting on Half Yearly Progress Review and Planning of VSP III was held in CEAPRED Central Office from July 6-8, 2011. The objective of the meeting was to review the progress (targets vs. achievements) of the last six months (Jan to Jun, 2011) and plan activities for next six months. On the first day, all district/cluster coordinators presented on progress and issues of their respective district/cluster in the last six months and a discussion was held following the presentations. The agenda of second day comprised of activity wise orientation to the field staff and discussion on next six month’s plan. On the third day, a compiled presentation of all the districts/clusters was made in the presence of SDC representative, Ms. Yamuna Ghale who in turn provided valuable suggestion for the betterment of the project. Following this, interaction meeting on status of vegetable seed production, sale, income and stock seeds was conducted with agro-enterprises, traders and other stakeholders. The interaction meeting also brought forth crucial issues, suggestions and feedback for improving the status of seed production and marketing. Later, Admin/Finance/IT Team provided Guidelines on Administration/Finance/Code to the district team.

Lastly, Dr. Hari K. Upadhyaya, Executive Chairperson of CEAPRED thanked all the participants for their active and productive participation. He also expressed the need to expand coordination and collaboration among all stakeholders to develop seed sector as a major source of economic growth.
