Training for Seed Facilitators held
Vegetable Seed Project (VSP III) organized a five days long training from 29th January to 2nd February, 2012 for its “Seed Facilitators”. The training was conducted with the objective to build their capacity on social mobilization, seed production technology, disease and insect management, group formation, cooperative formation and registration, micro irrigation scheme and infrastructures supports available in the project, post harvest technology, seed sampling, seed testing, gender mainstreaming etc. In addition, they were also acquainted with the project and its target groups.
Total 21 Seed Facilitators from eight clusters of the project were trained. On the last day of the training, a post training evaluation test was conducted and the four highest scoring trainees were awarded with a book, “Integrated Management of Vegetable Insects” written by Prof. Dr. Fanindra P. Neupane. The first award winner was Ms. Urmila Devi Sedhain from Ramechhap cluster, second award winner were Ms. Seti Maya Paija and Ms. Sabitri Panday from Parbat cluster and third award winner was Ms. Laxmi Rai from Okhaldhunga cluster.
